In the final assignment of AD2, it was mainly separated into 2 halves, first half being the workshop then after the model making section. The workshop was then separated into 3 parts which the first was in groups and the other 2 were individual.
In the first workshop, we were assigned to travel to the site, Botanical Garden which is located in Shah Alam, Selangor. My group was to investigate on the existing man-made structure there.
Then I was being assigned to another group consisting of 6 members to conduct our first workshop. First thing we needed to do was to select 2 sites within the garden and then draw out the macro and microsite with the sectional view as well. After finished the basics, we moved on to the core of this workshop, the site response vignette which we had to suggest different approaches or solutions to the problems of each site. Of course, we needed to draw out at least 1 or 2 sketches or drawings to showcase our ideas.
In the second workshop on the other hand, it was then an individual workshop which I had to further develop my mass model drawings on my 2 chosen sites. I drew out the basic shape and identify the 5 given spaces, contemplating, discussion, resting, working areas and washroom. I was then required to draw out the site use alternative identifying the potential problems and provide the necessary solutions to each of them.
After drawing out the sketches, I crafted 1 mass model for each site and photographed them in 6 different views including 4 elevations, 1 plan view and 1 perspective view to showcase them 360'.
Workshop 3
In the 3rd and final workshop of AD2, I was assigned to develop a more precise and detailed building or structure acting as the basic foundation for my final model. I crafted a fairly square with slightly twisted outwards angle on each side. The overall look of the model looked really below average of what I could potentially do. But thankfully this was just a workshop and I had more time to develop on the idea and the narrative between the connection of the users who were myself and my pet dog, Joy. This aim of this workshop according to the lecturers was to teach us more on the orthographic drawings and their little detailings which a lot of us had missed on.

Mock-up Models
In the culmination of AD2's final assignment, I continued to work on the same site as the previous three workshops. This time, my model was designed to cater to two distinct users – myself and my canine companion, Joy. The journey I embarked on was both challenging and enjoyable, a transformation that is evident in the mock-up models I created. Beginning with a simple, boxy structure, I gradually transitioned to more organic and curvilinear designs.
This evolution in my design process can be largely attributed to the dedicated guidance of my tutor, who invested substantial effort in helping me translate and manifest my creative concepts into tangible models and drawings. The transformation is a testament to my willingness to step beyond my comfort zone and venture into the realm of curvilinear and organic architectural design.
In my final assignment, I christened my creation "The Woof Woof House." A scaled 1:75 model was meticulously positioned on a 60cm x 45cm platform, complemented by three thoughtfully crafted presentation boards. These boards featured a comprehensive array of orthographic drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections, floor-to-roof sections, and perspective views. I also dedicated considerable attention to incorporating design principles and site vignettes, while weaving a compelling narrative, user study, and case study into the project. The outcome is a reflection of my dedication and the remarkable journey of creative growth that this assignment facilitated.
